About me
My name is Helene Igdemir and I have been a practising counsellor in Enfield, (close to Southgate and Edmonton) , North London for the past two years.
I work flexibly from my family home and have experience of working with both young people (from the age of 11) and adults.
I offer short and long term counselling.
My personal history of emigration means that I have a strong respect for difference and multiculturalism. I keep in mind that no-one but the person themselves can truly know what the experience of prejudice was like for them.
I have worked with clients who have experienced difficulties with :Abuse, Anxiety, Bereavement, Chronic illness, Depression, Panic Attacks, relationships issues and more.
I am able to offer sessions in French or Italian.
My fees are £60.00 per 50 minutes session. I offer some concessions and have some low cost places.
My practice is within easy reach of Enfield, North London, Cheshunt and Waltham Abbey.
My approach
I believe that counselling allows for deep changes, and my experience with clients is that it gives the opportunity to more than survive, it allows for individuals to thrive!
I believe counselling can promote self-acceptance, skilful will and empower people to discover and fulfil their true potential.
Each person's narrative is different. therefore I work integratively, which means working flexibly, using different approaches in order to meet your individual needs. In effect, I combine approaches such as: Gestalt, Jungian (working with archetypes, dreams, visualisation),neuroscience, developmental, psychodynamic and relational.
Sessions do not follow a formula and I do not come with a set idea of what should happen, should be said. We might look at dreams, at your childhood, at patterns that seem to be set within your relationships. Everything in sessions is relevant to you.

In our sessions, I endeavour to be side by side with you, accompanying you without judgement whilst you explore your personal journey.
